Wayfinder Archery is a Traditional Archery and Education Company which provides basic and fundamental knowledge in instinctive shooting, development of a relationship with the bow & arrow, and a platform to transform your relationship to yourself & nature.

All skill levels are welcome on the Range. Whether you are beginning your relationship with the bow & arrow, or want to expand and develop your skill set, Mikhel welcomes everyone with strong energy, great humor, and epic fun & insight. Through mindful form, a steady stance, precision focus, a clear mind, and an open heart, Wayfinder Archery provides a space of self-discovery, embodiment, power, and authenticity via the art of shooting arrows.

One of Mikhel’s strong suits is to aid everyone in embodying their epic archery form. A clear delivery of archery principles combined with her absorbable teaching methods leads to solid instinctive shooting form. Alongside the principles and methods she guides her students with, she also brings a unique and uncommon teaching element to the table, an instinctive understanding of the human psyche and heart.

She has an uncanny ability to tap into people's “internal form” which can strongly affect external archery form, offering a type of internal archery guidance. This guidance can aid you in transforming the way you physically shoot, right then and there. It can also aid in deeper levels of overall transformation. Our body and mind are ruled by our beliefs and relationship to self, therefore an awareness and a perspective shift can greatly affect how we carry ourselves, hold a bow, connect with our body, etc. That shift allows us more ability to sink into the present moment, which changes the game in regards to our Traditional Archery experience, and our life experience.

Pathways of Education

  • Traditional Archery Pathways

Workshops offer ½ day to multi-day participation. Traditional Archery is the baseline of all the events along with variations such as archery only, inclusion of a skill share(s), womens only, co-ed, youth only, and immersion style. Immersion style workshops are deeply focused on the inner terrain utilizing archery, breath, journaling, awareness tracking, and nature to come home to our self and bodies. The immersion events will sometimes combine breathwork or modalities that aid in somatic release and embodiment.

  • Public & Private Small Group Lessons

If you’re feeling called to experience Traditional Archery, want to solidify your existing relationship, or are interested in taking your practice to another level, I recommend private lessons. The one on one time or small group learning setting enables eagle eye awareness on you, allowing deeper development, understanding, and swifter integration of information.

  • Inner Terrain Coaching

Mikhel offers in-person and online sessions that aid in the exploration and discovery of the inner terrain of our minds, hearts, & bodies via discussion and presence. The power of vulnerability, curiosity, presence, authenticity, intuitive insightfulness, willingness, witnessing, and the desire to grow and change shared between two people can lead to powerful shifts of perception and awareness. When we shift our perception, even in the smallest of ways, significant course corrections and/or openings are able to occur within ourselves and lives. Inner Terrain sessions can be combined with Traditional Archery lessons and personal practice(s), giving a tangible form to experience shifts, awareness, and healthy habit building.

  • Traditional Archery & Skill Share Workshops

Where Traditional Archery and Epic Skill Shares come together for one day to multi-day participation. Skill Shares might include: Knot tying, shelter building, primitive camping, knife sharpening, fire making & tending, canning, butchering, backcountry first aid & herbalism, tracking and identification, cooking over fire, basket weaving, broom making, animal processing, hide tanning, etc. (If you are interested in collaborating or joining forces, feel free to reach out.)

  • Traditional Archery for the Youth

In general, Wayfinder Archery Workshops invite kids 8 years old and older to attend. We’ve found that 8+ year old kids are more able to hold and enjoy the focus and discipline required to participate on the range for longer periods of time, as well as hold responsibility well. There are always younger ones who excel at participation on the range, therefore if you have a child who’s younger than 8 years old that you feel is ready to join us, let me know, and they’re absolutely welcome.

  • Team Building & Bonding Sessions

Team building and bonding can be a great way to shake up, refocus, transform, harmonize, mend & tend, and bring lightness & depth to the dynamic of your team. Wayfinder offers one-day or multi-day experiences utilizing external and internal archery form practices, games, and self & group reflection tools to aid each individual in embodiment, expression, confidence, release, and self awareness which ultimately strengthens the spirit, bond, and energy of the team.

  • Traditional Archery Workshops

Archery only workshops are a great way to get a taste or take a deep dive into the practice of Traditional Archery. These workshops offer ½ day to multi-day participation options and are almost always co-ed events. Participating for more than a ½ day allows for the deeper development of your form and relationship with Traditional Archery to solidify and take root. Taking breaks between practice time within a day, or allowing integration to happen overnight, returning to practice a second day can benefit and excel your development multi-fold.

Kids 8 years old are welcome to attend.

  • Skills Gatherings

Skills Gatherings are held all over the planet, the ones in North America usually fall under the category of Co-ed or Women’s only. These gatherings are often a mix of hard and soft skills, depending on the gathering.

Hard skills= all the earth based skills our ancestors lived so they could thrive on our home planet. Soft skills- all the inner skills needed to live in harmony with our psyches, bodies, and one another. These gatherings can be incredibly powerful and fun, activating our remembrance to our indigenous hearts and lineages, our relationship with nature, larger community and relations, all while experiencing the fun and enjoyment of learning new skills. Wayfinder Archery can be found holding down the range at various skills gatherings throughout the year. Check out our calendar to find out which ones we will be attending, and the Explore page to be in the know of the various ones that exist.

  • Traditional Archery Immersions

Immersion Workshops combine Traditional Archery and a steady focus on our inner terrain to transform our internal and external archery form, as well as, ourselves and direction in life. We utilize instinctive archery, conscious breathing, journaling, tracking awareness, and nature to return to our body and self. By chopping wood & carrying water, (traditional archery and instinctive shooting basics and form) and stillness & rest, (self reflection and authenticity) we shift our form, perspectives, understanding, direction, and pathways.

Our body and mind are ruled by our beliefs and relationship to self, therefore an awareness and a perspective shift can greatly affect how we carry ourselves, how we hold a bow, and how we connect with our body.

If you have a child who’s younger than 8 years old that you feel is developed enough to join us, let me know, and they’re absolutely welcome.

My daughters and I fell in love with Mikhel's way of teaching the first time we had the pleasure to attend one of her classes, and together with that, we fell in love with archery!

After our first class, we knew we wanted more and joined one her family friendly Intensives in California where we were able to deepen our archery skills and our friendship with Mikhel! She is a wonderful woman who is able to pass her knowledge and passion on in a very direct and serious way while simultaneously weaving in humor and joy, a combination that makes her class and her direction easy to follow and to remember. She surely knows how to capture your attention!

Archery is a discipline that blends grounding and meditation, I highly recommend it for adults and children.
